Got the tranny cooler in today. Also got the rear gas tank skid mocked up. I have had this piece of dimpled steel for like a year and couldn't figure out what I want to do with it until today. Its only 1/8", but its strong as hell, and should work really well for a skid.
I also ditched the stock air box and mocked in this cheap ass filter. It frees up some room and now I have a spot for the ARB compressor.
My goal is to spend an hour or two on it everyday while I work on other stuff to get it done in time for the Colorado run.

Well, today all of the hardwork for the last few months on this rig is starting to payoff.
Over the last week, I tore down the entire front end and finished the grinding, welding, gusseting, and painting of everything. I also triple rated the coilovers, and put the shorter 10" front springs into the coilovers. I then built the front 3rd and got it installed and finished the front axle reassembly. So, everything is now installed into the front axle and I can call it done.
Then I moved onto the rear shock mounting. Everything I tried to build for the rear shock hoops to mount them outside the frame just wasn't working for me. Plain and simple is that I didn't like it. However, I happened to have a pair of CJ7 front shock mounts that we pulled off last week. I cleaned them up really well, and much to my surprise, they were perfect for what I wanted. 6" of up travel in the rear.
So, the 13" Poly Performance Big Black Cock Shocks are now installed. I went with the Poly shocks because it was one of the few shocks that I could order for coil spring applications in the valving I wanted.
At the beginning of the entire build my target frame height was 23.5". Right now the front of the frame under the door, is at 24.5". With sliders, bumpers, and a gas tank still left to install it really looking like 23.5" will be achieved. Also, now with the coilovers charged to 250 PSI, and the rear shock on it, I am really happy with the amount of body roll there is (or lack there of). We will see what needs to be done with a sway bar when I drive it, but I am very happy at this point.
With a few more quality days of work, I might actually be able to drive it by the end of next weekend.
I still need to tear down the rear for paint, but that should go quickly. Then I will move to brake and ARB plumbing.

I gotta say, Scotty, .....your work is INCREDIBLE! I'm not an expert at, well, ....ANYTHING regarding these rigs, lol. However, I'm learning, and I've been reading up on TONS of welding, Fabrications, ..just for S&G's, ....and you do some of the finest work I've seen!
Sweet Runner, and really love the look of that Armor.....'BEEFY', ....or maybe "SCARY" is a better choice of words, hahaa.
Rock on, Mr. Addicted!

Well, tomorrow is D day. Drive day. Its all buttoned up at this point for a drive. I have a couple minor things to do tomorrow like bleeding brakes, tightening the steering rod ends, greasing all the joints, and installing the crawl box shifter.
I hope to get them done early so I can pull it out of the shop and get it to the exhaust shop to let them work their magic.

Ok, I would like to go ahead and file a claim against Scotty and Addicted..... I have read thru this thread, and NOWHERE in it is their a disclaimer saying that the OP isn't responsible for viewers drooling on their keyboards and frying the computer.... it's about to happen, so I will just file my claim now to save time.
you, my friend, are the Hugh Hefner of truck porn! I don't think I have ever enjoyed looking up a Yota's skirt more in my entire life.
(ok ok, I have been looking for a reason to use the "king" icon, this seemed to fit)

So, D-day went well. Sort of.
I had two issues on the initial drive. First, when I installed one of the front rotors it got hung up on something under it, so when I drove it, it actually wobbled a lot and would compress the caliper to the point that I would have to pump the brakes to get it to stop.
2nd, was the steering pump get pissing fluid after I would shut it off. I think I have a small leak on the pressure line that is allowing air into the system.
I brought it back into the shop and fixed the rotor issue and was able to get it up to around 55-60mph with no issues. Brakes feel good, but there is body roll that will need to be addressed up front. Other than that it tracks great and feels good. I need to measure the caster at this point and add a couple degrees, but all in all it drives great.
Other than that, its finally on the road and driving. It still needs exhaust done on it though.
