YOUR dream road trip

I'm down for the Alaskan road trip
Be a nice leisurely trip for me.
If this actually does ever take place, make sure you count me in, I'd love to tag along with a YT convoy. Seeing as most of the answers are involving Alaska, it doesn't sound very far fetched.
I really have to take a trip father into central Alaska with the 4Runner. She hasn't seen much of it yet

We'll all meet up in major cities and leave from there and meet in Barrow or somewhere.
Maybe your house? Looks really nice from past pics you posted. Turn it into a bed and breakfast for a lil bit.
MMMMM BACON.
I'll eat all the snow and king crab I can till I vomit.

So it sounds like the Alaska trip is in the making? That would be cool for everybody to caravan, and catch up with eachother along the way... Since me and Dirty_yota are So cal, we could meet up with San Diego people (if any attend), all other so cal people, or anybody around the southern US, and cruise up and meet up as we go, and keep picking up people and it would keep growing into a gigantic Toyota convoy to Alaska... Sounds great, im in as long as it is a little ways away, $$$ is tight right now, but should be ok in a while...

I think that we plan one for next year. I want to take my girls with me the whole way. That way we get the logistics together.
I also think meeting on July 1st in Vancover, BC would rock. One day for everyone to get their trucks prepped, checked, and lubricated then we hit the road. I also think that we record the trip in pics, videotape, etc.
It would be something to remember for the rest of your life.

Ideally the most realistic date would be for May/June 2007 in my mind.
Lots of time for planning and saving and May/June is the most gorgeous time of year up here as there is plenty of lush vegetation and snow capped peaks.

Why 2007? We really only need one year of planning and saving probably... May/June 2006 would probably be good. Either way Dirty_yota and I are almost definatly in, and by then my dads 72 FJ-40 should be up and running so he may attend as well.

Roger- HELL YES! My buddy and I tossed the Idea around on this one and we wanted to do it TOPLESS in his 66 fj40. He has done the Atachama desert in northern chile, and the pictures were incredible.
Well boys, If I hit the powerball I'll Finance the gas, food, beer, and whiskey from seattle to Barrow (no kidding). Pipe dream. What would be really cool is to do that trip in a Megacruiser, the japanese hummer, That would make the 4x rags really drool!

This does bring back bad memories though, I sold the 89 to help finance a similar road trip from Vegas to AK. I won't say what vehicle I was riding in, but my ex-girl and I made it to Seattle via the PCH and all hell broke loose (not with the chick) and we had to turn back. Hindsight being 20/20, had I kept the pickup, and bought a tent trailer we would have made it there dancing all the way and not incurred the expenses and losses that ended up aborting the trip. The trip was still pretty cool, saw tons of Oregon, Washington, Cali, Nevada.
