I had a guy in a Tacoma wave the week I bought my truck. Since then nothing but I'm always ready to wave back anytime I see a Tacoma (or 4runner) approaching.

Not here. Its pretty much military only around here, and we dont like each other,j/k. When I was driving my last vehicle though people did stare. I guess people have never seen a Suburban before.

ill wave if i see a rugged looking toyota. sometimes ill get waves back, but most of the time people don't even notice they are being waved at. might have to start flashing my lights.

sticker me
I think the Yota tech stickers are the way to go, Red dot in the upper corner might get lost in the tint. Oh here's one more idea that I've seen on some early model hondas and such around here. In ridiculously Huge Letters have YOTATECH across the top of the windsheild

so I'm a dork??
I'm on my 6th CJ-5 and 1st yota. I still drive my CJ-5 and wave to all the other cj's I see on the road. Now I've started to wave at other Yota's mostly grey x-cabs with shells. but wave I do at other people with the good taste to buy a great truck.

I don't wave when I am in town, but I will rubber neck to check out a cool Toyota, or if a hot O+ is driving the rig
When in town, I often catch other Toy owners looking at my rear window.
I wonder why
I also get a lot of Toy owners looking at the sliders, winch, and bumper at stop lights.
I always wave when out on a trail, and get waves back.
I think it is curtious to do when out exploring.
Lee, I want a snorkel big time also, but if you are getting kids pawing at it, I am afraid I'd get kids wanting to put their hands all over mine to touch it.
I get enough finger prints on my rig now after I have it all cleaned up.
To many kids where I live, and it's impossible to watch them all the time.

There aren't too many newer toys around here, a few older trucks driven by them good ole country boys. There are too many other lifted vehicles out here mostly fords and chevy's but the have some hot girls drivin them sometimes. Out here in the country where we live everyone seems to wave, doesn't matter what kinda vehicle.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I just got my first wave today from another lifted pickup. I have caught people looking my way checking me out, must be the primer, because when they do it I'm doing the same thing. My buddys get waves all the time when they are riding in their older vw's especially the cabriolet. I just got a warm fuzzy feeling when I finally saw another toyota pickup wave.

Going from a fast car to a truck I've noticed the car guys never look at you but other trucks want to race you from a light, especially the domestic truck guys.
I wave at other 4Runners if they look like they actually off road 'em and they make eye contact but around here like most places the SUV crowd is mostly comprosed of moms and the such and the most dirt their trucks see is the sand they lay down on the roads around here.

Man, a whole lot of old threads getting revived lately...
I hear you though- now that my rig is looking pretty modded, I get some good looks pretty often now. Got a big thumbs up from a California 4Runner here in Seattle just last week. Kind of makes it worth all the money we spend on our vehicles!

I kinda wave at all trucks that are clearly used off road, and I normally get waved at by the same crowd, or at least a knod. Jeep guys wave at me all the time, but only the ones with mods. I also get a lot of people who once they see my truck they stare at it until it is out of sight. I always think that is super funny...
