Yet another "squeak" thread....
I've done the search thing and it seems that all the threads that have been started relate to the front end. Well....my squeak is in the rear of my rig. It does it on uneven roads (washboard) and small bumps. I stood on the bumper and running boards and was able to recreate the noise. I'm just not sure where to look first to see what might be causing it. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Is it a Tacoma or 4runner?
If Tacoma, check the rear leaf hangar bushings.
Have someone else stand on the running boards and bounce it while you lay under or near the rear and listen.

Sorry....it's a 97 4Runner.
I realize analizing any problem over the internet isn't easy. I wasn't looking for an exact diagnosis of the problem. Just some ideas of where to start looking.
Thanks.

There are a ton of bushing under that thing that could be causing this. Best thing to do is lay under there while someone else jumps on the bumper...

my rear squeak was a twisted rear sway bar-at some point in compression it would touch just enough to drive me crazier.
As stated you have to pinpoint the noise more exactly so have the kids/wife/gf jump on the (vehicle) body while you analyze below

Just an idea...
But start on the driver's side rear and lube one bushing....jump on bumper
if it still sqeaks then lube next bushing....jump on bumper and so on and so forth until it quits sqeaking. At least when you get done all of your bushings will be lubed.
