with this you can run your truck off fuel that is 30 to 50% less expensive. turn that 18 mpg to 28 to 36 (comparatively figuring the same amount of gas at a lower cost) mpg and keep your ride. Whats another $2400 after all you have spent. Besides you cant buy a 30 mpg car as nice or functional as you already have for $1400. Plus this system can be removed and place in another vehicle (V6) and work just fine so the system will last through your next few vehicles. Just my 2 cents, but I hate to see someone do something irrational. and selling a $13K rig for $5K is irrational.

Yeah, I hear ya on just letting it sit. In bad times, as our economy is going through, people are seeing the light and hanging onto any money they have. They are turning to their old cars and keeping them longer, rather than getting a new one. One way to look at it; you have an asset sitting in your garage.......

I now have a pickup truck that I really like a lot. More interior space, more power, and I bought it used off of Craigslist with lots of mods already done. This truck, though not modified to the capability of my last 4Runner, will still take me down the gravel road and pretty much get me to where I want to go. My paradigm of crawling the large rocks has changed, and now I'm content to just tow a cheap pop-up camper to a campsite and chill. I found that posting on the bulliten boards was the best way to get my rig out there. I had my rig posted on about 8 boards, plus craigslist and I showed it at a local 4wd event (Chili Challenge in Las Cruces). So, I was definitely working the market. However, it still took quite a bit of time to actually sell, and considering all the stuff that went with the 4Runner, I was pretty much giving it away when it was all said and done.

I was thinking that maybe this truck at $5500 was cheaper than normal --- and therefore is either cheaper because the market is down and the trucks aren't selling, or because it's actually a POS...

I'll try posting it on Denver here soon. I was really trying to avoid having to ship it or deal with a long distance sale but I guess it wouldn't be to big of a deal.

Took a few pics this evening of her with the IPF's mounted to the stock bumper. I was really missing the light that these things throw. I don't think it looks to bad so I am going to keep them on there. Maybe it will be a little more incentive for someone, haha.

Concerning long distance potentials. I had a guy from Reno Nevada purchase my rig. To sweeten the deal, to anybody who would have to drive a long distance....I offered to pay for their plane ticket. The price of their plane ticket was taken off the price of the vehicle. And of course, since I have a website, I detailed everything out, videos, close up pictures, detailed info on the modifications and a willingness to assist them with phone help should they have any issues.......This is pretty much what sold my rig..

bump back to the top-

it is clear 4runnin2 you love this truck - it is a shame you are convinced you need an 80. I think once gone you will miss this one dearly-you have poured your heart and soul into it .

You been following up on your recent inquiries? Maybe go for the community college crowd-dang that is a gorgeous truck. Do you ever just park it near the busiest intersection in town with the FOR SALE sign? or maybe that is not legal where you are. Can't believe this is not selling.

Can't believe it is not selling either. Even when I get another rig, I don't think I could ever sell my 3rd gen runner.

Selling for me was easier, considering all the work I put into my rig. Since I'm riding the dirt bike, I needed something to carry my bike in the back of the vehicle, and at the same time pull my pop-up camper to riding events. For me, giving up the ultimate 3rd gen 4Runner was a little easier....

Yea, I see where you are coming from. I guess different events in life make certain decisions easier or harder. Your 3rd gen was a BEAST of a rig!!!

Yeah, I have been keeping up with people who have contacted me about it. I kept most of there e-mails in a seperate folder and everytime I dropped the price I would forward the info onto them. Some have replied back but most I never hear back form, Tire kickers I would assume.
I actually haven't set it out along the road yet. I am always afraid something may happen to it. The only places I have put it on is: Here,TTORA,Mud,yotanation,UltimateYota,T4R and of course Craigslist.

Well....considering how cats are going missing, I probably wouldn't set it on the side of the road either. I was fortunate in that I was able to leave my rig in high-traffic area of fellow wheelers. I figured that at the very least they would kick the crap out of anybody who would be trying to steal it or a part of it.

good luck to ya on the sale.

Ron,

Had a guy write me from out your way in Denver. He has a nicely built 4Runner and is talking his sister-inlaw into buying mine. I'll let you know how it works out.

How do you guys like this idea of trying to sale an already sweet deal? I put $800 worth of new tires on today (295/75/16's) and I am only asking $6,800 for the truck. Thats only $300 more than i was originally asking before the new tires. Tell me thats not a good deal!
