Wiring / purpose "orange box" in the tailgate
Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the orange box in the tailgate.
Here is my problem
Dome light in the back won't come on unless the key is on- I've tried to lube it up, took the pannel off, tried to get at it but before I take the whole windo assembly out I thought I would look at the orange box.
Power window will not go down with the key in the back door
Power locks, will not unlock the rear tailgate. (have to unlock manually with the key)
I had a blown fues which i replaced which makes me think there is something faulty with the box, or the wiring. I had the back cover off and looked at all the connections and the look good. The one switch to detect if the windo is up or down looks ok but there is some rust on the window motor (motor works with key on)
Any help?? would that orange box have the logic for all that, ie dome light, elec locks wiper motor etc?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated...

I had most of those same problems. I tracked it down to a couple of broken wires in the convoluted rubber that houses the entire wiring for the tailgate. It feeds from the body to the tailgate on top. I also took the plastic piece that holds the wiring, I never put it back on. This allows the wiring to move easier and will hopefully keep from breaking more wires.
Look there first.
Even if this isn't the problem, take the plastic piece off and leave it off!

Thanks..
Yeah I looked at that.. but couldn't figure out how to get it apart easily. I guess I should worry about taking it off so I can get it back on, just take it off..
Did you tape it up when you were done?
