Windshield Wiper Squeek on Replaced Windshield
I ended up having to replace a windshield on a 2002 4Runner after a run in with a very large rock on the freeway. Went to a great place that put a new one in, bought new wiper blades and all seemed fine. Now that it is pouring here, wipers are making a squeeking sound across windshield and the passenger side one is skipping at the 90 degree point. Any suggestions on how to remedy this annoying problem? Thanks!

The new windshield has a film on it that they didn't clean off well enough.
I've used 2 methods to polish a windshield and get really clean. First the more expensive method. Use the glass polish from Griot's Garage - http://www.griotsgarage.com/catalog....1001&SKU=11063
It runs about $27 for the whole kit and it works great and is safe for your glass.
Also, I've used BonAmi cleanser to polish my windshield. I;ve never had a problem with ever scratching the glass but do test a small area first before using it. And only use BonAmi. All other cleansers WILL mess up your window to your world. And it only costs about $1.50 for a whole can.
Now the bad news. My father had a new aftermarket windshield installed at the dealer and had the same problem with sqeaking and shuddering wipers. They tried everything to fix it. Polish, replaced the wipers, replaced the whole wiper system and finally had to order a windshield from the factory. That worked. Thank goodness the car is under warranty.
