will these nerf bars work???
i recently acquired a set of brand new smittybuilt surestep nerf bars from a 2door 1988 4runner bought in 1989 and never taken out of the box until now. i own a 1995 4runner sr5 and i am wondering if these will bolt up or i would just be wasting my time trying to get them to work. i am just trying to find a replacement for my now rusting stock running boards. it appears that the bolts may line up but i am not 100% positive. should i make them fit or leave the factory running boards on?

They list different p/n's on between the 1st and 2nd gen 4Runners:

I know the 1st gen ners use the rear leaf spring hanger bolt to attach the rear mounting bracket to the frame. You have coil springs so that bolt would of course not be there, might need to drill a hole there for that bracket.
On my 1st and 2ns gen sliders, the front brackets are the same, but I move the rear bracket forward about 3" to clear the rear trailing arm brackets:

thanks for the input. i know that the front bolts will mount up, but it was the rear that i was worried about. they look like they may bolt up in the rear also, but i won't be able to know unless i take off the factory running boards and try. if not, i'll just stick em on ebay.
