>> Will these LUG NUTS work?? (pics)

Wondering if I can use the black acorn style nuts on my 2000 4runner Limited that came with the 5 star rims but NOW has 97 LC wheels. Currently I am using the silver lugs that came on my truck stock to hold the LC rims and they work fine. I WANT to use the black ones and wondering if thats ok to do?? TIA

they will not work. If you look at the "seat" of the lugnuts, they are shaped differently. You would have to find that flat style lug just like the OEM ones for them to fit correctly.

Well, ya, its not like I have not thought of that. However I want to keep this truck a little less getto and really don't feel like spending the time sanding and painting lug nuts to just have them flake once i put the wrench on them. and, no, i will not paint them on the truck...hence me looking for black lugs

There are two types of LC rims, one that use Acorns in a hardened steel seat (earlier years) and those that use the shank style like you have. Soo, depends what your LC rims are.

Just drive your truck to any major tire shop they should be able to tell you exactly what you need, and they will probably have it on stock. I payed about $65 (I think) and they are locking lugs.

I just put LC wheels on my 98 and I had to buy new lug nuts. The LC wheels had the conical seat in them. Got em installed today and couldn't be more happy. You'll just have to check your seats in the wheel. Nice Runner michalik_piotr! Love the intimidating mutt out the window. My boxer does the same thing

Ryani, mine do not appear to have an inverted cone for a lack of a better way to describe it....they are simply flat on the surface. Does that mean i in fact can *not* use the acorns? The "mutt" sir, is a Cane Corso, lol.... her best friend is a boxer, check out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jzw6D...eature=channel. And, nicer runner as well....I need to tint my front windows more!

So, where can I find the "flat" style lugs in black? Anyone??

Check with Toyota and Lexus. I have some Lexus LX 450 rims that came with black lugs and locking lugs. My only problem is they are 1 standard non locking lug short. From Lexus (or Toyota) they will be spendy, but they do exist. I will eventually make a project out of finding out if I can get one more lug to complete the set. For now I have some silver ones I had laying around with the black locks. Ugh.

Thanks for that info...my whole thing is I do not want to pay 60 or a 100, thats just too much for vanity in my book. they exist on ebay for 20-40 but are the conical ones. theres also such a thing as plastic covers that go over your existing lugs that i used on my blacked out 5 series and they look and work grt but i don't think they belong on a truck....

search continues i guess.... i welcome and appreciate more suggestions...thanks everyone!
