Will My Gas Mileage Really Go Down???
Im planning on putting some 33X10.50's on my stock tacoma wheels and have a question. If i up my tire size will my gas mileage drop a lot or will my odometer just not gauge the mileage right. currently i get about 265 miles to a full tank(2.7L), which isnt bad in my opinion. when i had my 4runner i went from 245's to 31X10.50s and noticed a change in the mileage i was used to getting, but i felt a lot of the change was due to the odometer registering different. Would like some input. thanks all.

I switchd from 31x10.50 to 33x10.50 and lost 1.2-2.5 MPG. My spedometer is off by about 4 MPH at 75 MPH, but almost dead on at low speeds according to GPS. Your odometer will not be far off at all.
You will notice a power loss, and 5th gear will get used a lot less, but that look and the ground clearance make it worth it IMO.

Running a taller tire is the same thing as changing the gears in your axle to a numerically lower ratio.
Yall can plug your gears and tire sizes into thos nifty calc-program to see what is up when you swap in taller tires.
