Will 1st/2nd gen nerf bars fit 3rd 4runners

With the recent cracking of my passanger running board, when I fully stuffed my rear tire. Im going to need a cheap way to allow my passangers to climb into my 97 4runner. I found a set of nerf tubes that didn't fit on another guys 84 4runner. He said its for a later model. Is there a chance that it would bolt onto my 97 4runner? Hopefuly some can fill me in, thanks guys.

Well, 1st gen nerf bars probably wouldn't work. I have them on my 1st Gen, and in the back they mount to the leaf spring mounting hole. Obviously, you won't have this. If they are weld-on, then they may work.
