wich color has the tachometer wire in 4runner 99?

wich color has the tachometer wire in 4runner 99?

I installed a viper alarm with remote starter and I cant find the tachometer wire , somebody knows? how to find it cause the remote start keep starting the engine and doesnt stop, even if its running the motor,,, thanks alot

I stop using tachometer sensing when installing w/ viper units. I stick w/ voltage sensing.

i use to have the same viper alarm in a camry/ but the intaller doesnt remember the color tachometer wire, but maybe youre right, so how do you do that? how do you find the voltage sensing? the 4 runner start but keep starting and make alot of noise when remote starting!! tnx alot

you can also locate it by the black wire on the diagnostic port under the hood thats on top of the engine thats the one i used when i put my remote start and alarm in and it works like a charm

I pulled my cluster and tapped into the tach wire behind there - far better for a stealth install. I dont remember the color, but it was really easy to find with a meter.

yes that might work but all install books say to use the one from the diagnostic port bc it reduces the risk of damaging anything in the cluster which can happen very easily

the cable wire was the black one , the one in the diagnostic , nothing but black and now it works very well so thanks my friend :

yeah the black wire in the diagnostic worked hella good. all you gotta do afterwards is use some of that black tube wrapping and it'll look so much better and clean.

and thanks again for the pic Kerby J.

if anyone out there need some help installing a viper 5900 remote start into a 97 4runner lmk. i just got done with mine today.
