And who said the 3.0 is slow.

i got pulled over doin' 120 in a 65 zone. (i am not kidding - i swear)
i didn't even know i was going that fast 'cuz the speedo only shows to 110...
ever since then I haven't been speeding; lucky for me that cop let me off. He must've felt bad for me. Anyways, he said he clocked me in at 120

Mine isn't the V6 but I had my 2.7 doin' 100 and I think I could have got more out of it.
I was doing my annual trip to Salt Lake City and I was trying to break my record from 2 years back with a total time of 10 hours 42 minutes. The time was in my old 89 toyota with the V6 and I think it was the 3.slow.
Two years ago I got a ticket in Utah for doing 98 in a 65 construction zone and when that trooper fliped his light and hit that median to turn around I didn't let up and it took him almost 5 minutes to catch up to me......that was a 480.00 mistake.:pat:

I ran from a cop once, and actually made it. But it wasn't in my truck... it was when I had my 91 Honda Accord. It was at nite, so I pulled off into a neighborhood into a driveway, cut off all my lights and waited for like 30 mins. He was nowhere to be found.

one time my friends an I were driving from PA to miami down the 95 and we had a rented corrola. So we would pass troopers sometimes.. we were goin' so fast that we would hit the next exit immeidately , and park somewhere with the lights off... we got away twice doing that.... the other times we got tickets but we didn't try getting away; it sure was exciting

I've had my truck up to 85 . I'm never in that much of a hurry.
I had the old dirtbike up to 105 on non-DOT, unbalanced knobbies just to see if I could. The wind resistance felt like it wanted to blow me right off the back. Once is enough to experience that. Death wobble has its name for a reason.

On the way back from California City, going with the flow of traffic, I hit 95, but the entire truck started shaking so I had to back off. Think it was the alignment, but I'll probably never do that again.
On a happier note, I got a ticket for doing 57 in a 40 on my 22 birthday (dec. 9)

I got clocked at 143mph in my Supra right after I finished the engine swap. I pulled over when I saw the cop and luckily since I didn't try getting away he only wrote me up for 10 over.

I got my 04 double cabn up around 105 or so, before the govener kicked in...but you guys obviously dont street race....which is good, cause you all drive offraod rigs, the fastest people on here a talking like 110's, which yes is fast, but not scary at all...to me at least. In my 95 Mx6 we would run low 140's on a regular basis.Yes albeit stupid, its a hell of a good time. dont flame me for being a stupid speeding import racer either. I've got my truck now..I usually keep it under 85.

fastest ive ever been in my yota was 106/8 i forget what the cutoff is, i was too concentrated on the cars i was passing to worry about how fast, and yeah that cutoff is scary the first time. the stupidest ticket i ever got was when i "paced" a cop down in tampa and he didnt like it so he pulled me over and wrote me a ticket, damn cops always speeding and never letting us speed

I've pushed my 4runner to 150-160 km/hr, so roughly 93-100 mph. The strange thing is that it still feels like it has some giver left, but I've never had the guts to do so. Also by then I'm deep in the revs. Probably the best speeding ticket story I've got is when I was caught going 143km/hr (90ish mph) in my old 1.3L civic hb. This is after I just barely missed burying the needle at 180 km/hr (112 mph) flying down a hill. There is no way in hell that car could have pushed 180km/hr on a flat though. 150 look a long (and i do mean long) straight to get er there. The best part was when I showed the ticket to my friends most called me dumb, some laughed at me, and all were impressed that the civic could actually pull such speeds

I see this thread going on and on. Not that I am complaining. The stories are fun to read. I hate the traffic cops and tickets are such a PIA...I got too many of them myself.
