Who makes the best 5VZ-FE headers?

Ian posted it as it was done to his truck.
and yes, even at 1500rpm it gives 5 - 8hp. but it gives a boost of over 10ft lb of tourqe at that range. that is what really matters and it actually boosts tourqe 10 - 18ft lb all the way through.

Texas ace I must say your 4runner is

Other then an unpainted hood and the brush guard it is stock on the outside. It was taken back to stock so that the above would not happen. After being broke into it changed the plans for it some.
Oh, and i would have called it Riced out, but that is just me.

Keep beveling in fuel line magnets, and headers that increase efficiency by 30-40%.
Btw, if you are getting constant gains on the dyno throughout the band, means you can't use a dyno either. Gains will generally be relative to the output. If you are getting +10hp on top of 40hp, and then you are getting 10hp on top of 150hp, you should be getting that tingling sense inside that something ain't right.

Plus it gets over 50hp at 1500 stock. How about just reading the dyno, admitting you are wrong rather then doing this?

Also, what about the Toyota OEM tubular 'mini headers' from the 2001+ 4Runners? Do those give any performance gains? What about fitment issues with the 'mini headers' from 2001+ 4Runners into 1996-2000 4Runners?

Are there any minor fitment issues with those headers? I was looking at my engine bay today and it looks like the transmission kick down cable passes really close to my stock exhaust manifolds. I wonder if the headers interfere with that kick down cable at all.

As for the mini-headers, i have never tried them but from what i hear, unless you are getting them for virtually free it is not worth upgrading to them. They are between the real headers and the stock manifolds. Power gains also also in the middle. If you are going to take the trouble of doing it, do it right with something that will actually help.

Well if i straight pipe with a small resonator and gained power i can only imagine that better headers would let the motor breath better. So I'm still waiting for BBK to get back to me, other wise i will be getting the Downey Ceramic full length headers.

It sounds like you've never looked at the stock 5vz-fe "log style" headers. They are pathetic. The thing about correctly designed headers that gives the motor more power is the velocity from the exhaust charge coming from each cylinder creats a minor vacuum effect in the next firing cylinder, sucking more air out of the exhaust stroke. It's not just the sizing of the pipes and amount of flow capable that makes the difference. That's why its usually worth it to spend a bit more on headers from a company that understands the dynamics.

A lot of this is dependent on primary length and size you can have a header (aftermarket) that can increase hp and torque all the way in the rpm band. You want to look at equal lenth headers so the primaries work in like a harmony. The pressure differrential between the primaries will actually cause a low pressure area making your exhaust flow more cfm on your head. The collector size and design makes a huge difference in it because that is where everything meets.
