who has the 5spd and e-locker combo

I have only seen a handfull of them online, never one in person. I have only seen like 3-4 5speed 4runners in person, they be a rare breed. I am the only one I know with the combo I have from the factory.

actually know of two...mine, which the previous owner had installed, but never off-roaded it and a guy that lives right down the road from me, but his 5-spd & locker combo is straight from the factory...definitely hard to find

I have the factory 5 spd and locker combo with the 3.4. It's a '99 sr5, and I have used it on occasion. That's the thingy that locks the doors, right? j/k. I love letting my buddies think we're walking home just long enough to make them mad, and then pushing the magic little button on the dash!

Yeah I have the 3.4L with the 5-speed and the factory E-locker. I really love the setup and the locker has really come in handy in the right conditions! I also have the year 2000 model with the upgraded cup holders among other things, not to mention that it is the last year for the 5-speed!

Just having a 5 speed is pretty rare. It doesn't seem like it when 15 people post one up here though! I have never seen another 5 speed 4Runner. Whenever people look at mine, they always have something to say about it being a stick. I jumped on mine because it was a 5 speed and I was pretty excited about that.
I remember when I was younger, my Dad and I would go over to Toyota and drool over the 3rd gen 4Runners. He always wanted to get a 4 cylinder, 5 speed, 4x4 base model. The 4Runners were so expensive though! I couldn't believe it, but the sticker price on my 4Runner was $32k! Yikes!

Rare or not, I don't see all the hype w/ owning 5spd 4Runner?? Maybe that's b/c I'm just lazy and don't care to manually have to shift in an SUV . I never really cared for the 5spd even when I owned an '86 4Runner. Don't get me wrong, I prefer a 5spd in a car, but an SUV...no way. What can I say, but I love my auto!
