Where to get a panel painted
Hey guys, I bought a replacement fender and since its black, need to get it color matched.
Whats cheaper... putting it on the car first then getting it painted or just giving the fender to paint?
Where would you get it painted? Is Maaco the cheapest?

Maaco might be the cheapest, but it's probably the ÅÅÅÅtiest.
I would just find a reputable body shop to do the work for you. The reason for that is if your color (esp. white) has darkened a little over time, they will be more qualified to match the color than Maaco will. And that's just one advantage.
Also, when body shops do painting on a vehicle (from my experience), they'll test fit the part to make sure the part itself is OK and wasn't hurt during handling (esp. important with aftermarket parts) and then take it back off to paint it. And then they will only paint the visible side.
I hope that helps...

when you take it to get painted bring take the fuel door to the body shop this way that can match the paint since the paint on the truck is oxidized it may not match if they just go by the paint code..a good place can go a shade lighter or darker than the paint code
