Where can I buy a new 1st gen 4runner tailgate?

Does anybody know where I could buy a new 1st gen 4runner tailgate? If so, any idea on how much it would be?

Try a local junkyad. Look in your local phone book and start calling or get online and get on the online junkyard site all the junkyards use...I forget the web address.

I'd really like to find a brand new one if possible. That way I can go 10 years or so before the rust invasion starts.

1st gen what? 4Runner? Pickup? Makes a big difference in price.
Call around to a bunch of different collision repair places and see what they tell you. Some won't want to waste their time and will probably be somewhat curt if they don't think it is going to lead to any work for them, but others might point you to a good source.
Search the net and you can find some, but prepare for a lot of frustration since there are tons of KEYWORD sites that pretend to have the part to get you in and you won't actually find it once you get in there. However, I did find how you could put Lambo doors on a 1st gen pickup for $1400+
As far as price, if aftermarket, I found a 1st gen pickup one for $91, but didn't hunt around on 4Runners.
You might even call a bunch of dealers in big cities to see if they have any NOS tailgates. Sometimes they want to get rid of stuff and sell it cheap. I used to have a link to a site that only dealt in NOS stuff that dealers had dumped from their inventory and the prices were really good, but I lost it somehow...whoops.

By complete do you mean with all of the guts? because a dealer sells all the stuff but it is all separate & will cost a fortune.

1st gen 4runner...sorry. I mean complete as the whole metal case..the actual tailgate, not a repair panel. I don't need the guts, I already have those including a brand new regulator.

Ya a dealer should be able to get one for you or try an aftermarket one as well. The website I gave you also has the complete ones as well, not just the repair panel

Don't see anything but repair panels on that website.
