Where to buy a 22R?
Since I may be getting my 81 back, I may just want to rebuild the 22R eventually, or just buy a new built one. Where do I look for one, besides ebay?

no such thing, unless you can find a new old stock engine laying around in one of toyota's warehouses. production ended in '95 in most places, '97 in south africa...

I'm sorry, I wasd miss understood. Ford doesnt make the 302 anymore, but companys like DSS, CHP, Dart, Fox Racing, ect. Still make short/long block 302's ready for street/strip.
No one does this with the 22R?

yes, but they're no longer in production. most likely taking up space in a warehouse.
stuff like the 302 ford and 350 chevy small block V8s are still in production as blocks and crate engines but no longer used in production vehicles(i'm not counting the 3rd gen small blocks chevy uses now). for being such a popular engine, i can't imagine why there's never been any cool aftermarket heads or blocks for the 22R...
