When to clean MAF?
Today seems like "Rondo: YOU ASK THE QUESTION!!" day. Ok I know theres a ton of info on how to clean the MAF I even went thru 4 pages of search totals, but didnt see anything on when. At least I didnt see any..
I have bought this.
Will this work? or should I wait until my check engine lite comes on? or If I ever have acceleration issues? I mean my 4Runner is runner pretty well right now.. but its got over 30K on it and what Ive read says "clean maf at 30k" but Im also of the school of "if it aint broke..."
Oh and Ive never said this but seriously..
Thanks for being here.. you doods and doodettes Rock!!

If you have a K&N or something like that you should check/clean it at every oil change. But if you have a reglar paper filter then just unscrew it and take a look at it. If it needs cleaning then do it. I'm not quite sure of the "clean MAF at 30K" thing though.

You can clean as often as you like but you probably don't need to do it more than every 30-40k miles.
Yes, that contact cleaner is fine to use as well.
