Whats up with my 5VZ-FE??
Hi everyone.
Im new here, and was hoping to find some help. I just bought this truck. The engine originally had a Super Charger on top of it, so there may have been some modifications done. I'm trying to figure out where these vacuum lines originally lead.
I'm curious about his one here coming out of the Intake Plenum thats being plugged with a bolt...
And this one here coming out of the front of the Intake Plenum.
If anyone could shed any light on where these lines originally lead it would be greatly appreciated!! If anyone would like to see any of the rest of the truck just let me know. Its a '92 4Runner body, 5 speed with dual cases and solid front axle from Mini truck.
Thanks in advance for all the help guys!!

The first one is a vent/purge line for the 3.4L EVAP charcoal canister, which your swap probably doesn't have. The second one is for the power steering idle up valve, which was likely discarded in the swap too (there should be another blocked off port on the intake between the MAF and throttle body that was also connected to the idle up valve).

Not to familiar with the superchargers on these motors but do you know if it was reprogrammed after the charger was taken off? Or well I'm not sure if they need to be programmed in the first place for different fuel requirements are needed. Did you buy it from a PO or dealer or??

I've never heard of anyone reprogramming the 5VZ ECU, seems most people end up getting a URD kit with a extra module that modifies the fuel mapping (or whatever it is that it does).
Shasdakota, look under your truck, I'm 95% sure you only have one O2 sensor, the 5VZ ECU is expecting 2, one before the cat and one after. Depending on where you live/have the truck registered and whatever emissions requirements you have, you can either add the O2 sensor after an appropriate cat or URD sells a rear O2 simulator for off-road use.
Even though the swap you bought is "done" you still might want to read through the 3.4 swap forum and get a feeling for what some people have run into and things that you may encounter too (depending on how thorough the swap was done).
