Whats the smallest part of an AISIN hub ?
Thats' right. The little ball bearing on top of the spring that latches the LOCKED and FREE dial.
Well, I got my AISIN hubs off eBay and stripped them to clean and service a couple of nights back. Last night I was brainlessly surfing Yotatech and found a note in a tech article that says "And don't lose that little ball bearing"
Doh !!!
Seems in my haste to dismantle one hub, I had a brain fart and forgot about it....so, at 11.45 pm last night, I am on my hands and knees on my nasty basement floor looking for a 1/16" diameter ball bearing What a dumbass
So today I am buying lottery tickets.... I found the little bugger at 12.01 am this morning ... thing is almost black with old grease and blended in pretty good but someone was looking out for me...it was right behind the leg of the bench.
Not gonna make that mistake again. Consider this another Public Service Announcement
