Whats the biggest difference btw the 4wd system in 3rd gen VS 4th gen?
I've been wondering if Toyota has improved the 4 WD system in the new 4th generation 4Runner,or does the 3rd gen system work smoother and offer more features? Are both on the fly systems ,can they both be driven on dry pavement, are they both quick to gear-up,do both generations offer all time 4WD? Is there a history of problems in the 3rd gen's 4wd system?
Thanks
Thanks

2. depending on which one you get for the 4th gen one is on the fly and one is not. the v8 4x4 is always in fulltime while the v6 4x4 is partime. since the fulltime v8 4x4 is on fulltime you can drive on dry pavement. not sure on the details of the 3rd gen though.
3. haven't heard of any issues on any of the 4wd system for all gen 4runners.
