I use 87, mainly because it's cheap. My 4Runner runs the best with 87 anyway, might have something to do with the elevation.

and I thought it was expensive here......That remindes me, when I drove an expedition to Mexico, it would take $55 to $60 dollars to fill one tank!

I don't know if my feeling is wright, please correct me if I am wrong.

I try both Regular and Premium. On Regular, I notice I had a better acceleration and seems stronger; however the engine roaring a bit louder on acceleration phase. On Premium I have better gaz mileage (16mpg vs 15mpg), I loss the acceleration / power. When I hit the gaz pedal to pass another car, the truck seem to take more time than when I am on regular ; however, the engine seems to roar a bit less than on Regular. May be my ears aren't as accute as they are used to and need to be check up.

i use 89 all the time, switching to 91 or 93 every once in a while.

89 and 87 are pretty close in price in these parts, so i dont see why i shouldnt opt for the higher octane.

my one question is, i got this truck with 47K or so on her, and never bothered to ask what octane the person before me used. does it matter that i didnt find out??

what if theyd been using 89, 91 or 93 all the time?? what are the consequences?
