I have a buddy who has a 2.7 motor and trans. w/ transfer case, that came out of a 1997 Tacoma 4wd. It had an engine fire, and that appears to be garbage, but I was wanting to see if the tranny would work for my 86 22re auto to manual swap. I have heard it may be a R151F, but wondering if that would be too good to be true? As the 151F bolts right up to the 22re, correct? An R150F setup would do me no good, unless I could find a correct bell housing from a turbo or 151F? Correct? Thanks, sorry for any confusion, I am just trying to get this straight. i know that the 3RZ-FE uses the W59 transmission

its a w59, your looking for trouble with swapping that trans into your 86.

You would need a w56 bell housing, then another adapter to run a passenger drop tcase.

Just save yourself some money and time and find a whole w56 setup.
