Do one change at a time. That way you'll know which mod affects the ride. If you do both at the same time and you do or you don't like the ride, then you won't know which one did it.

2, if you are installing them your slef, its a mojor pain in the butt, if you get someone else to do it, you will be paying two install fees when you could be paying one.

Joey, there is suppose to be an easy way to install the rear coils as I read someone's install from ODW one time.

They said to drive at an angle I think towards a curb, and have the side you are working on up on the curb.

This extends the coil, and when you loosen the shock mount, the coil about drops out.

Get ahold of Josh on here. He may know more about doing it that way.

I say go for either mod, but you will notice the new height and come out of the "saggy ass" club much sooner if you do the coils first.

Hey guys thanks for the inputs. Looks like I will be saving up a for a bit and then just doing it all at once. That means I have to wait like a whole month to do another mod.. Not sure if I can handle that or not I hear that butt sag club is not for everyone..

Yeah dude, let us know when you get the stuff and take some pics and what-not! I would like to see that. Are you going to do the install yourself or have someone do it for you? Just wondering. :fireman:

I voted for number 2, but I suppose it depends on what kind of person you are. I tend to lean toward waiting and doing everything at once, but then there are times when I don't end up doing anything at all for whatever reason. (Most of the time because I'm lazy.) I'd still go for #2 since you know you are going to be able to do it relatively soon.

which first

I just did the Downey HD spring thing and she's still a great ride. Shocks can come later but you may find (like me) that you just gotta get rid of the sag. Don't wait! Get the springs now.

JMHO : but isn't it always?

The only reason I only installed Bilsteins was because I'm not planning on replacing the springs.

If you're replacing springs I'd recommend waiting for both so you can do it all in one shot. Plus it will be easier to compress the new one and put the shock in and just remove the old ones and replace with the whole new shock/coil assembly.

We 2nd geners don't have to worry about spring compressors and such, we've got torsion bars in the front. The only thing involved with changing the shocks is loosening 2 nuts/bolts on each shock. Nothing to it. That's why I say just do the shocks now.
