What mod to do next?
Since I just finshed my biggest mod ever I figure it's time to start at least thinking about what I want to do next, besides I have to figure out how much money I need to save now

Old school...
Forgive me if I seem a bit old fashioned...
I can' t help but notice that those who appreciate and own newer 4runners seem to have more of a proclivity for hood scoops and spoilers, etc. of the visually appealing genre of mods.
Don't get me wrong, they do look cool, sometimes I wish I could get a hold of them for mine. But frankly, the reason I bought my 1st gen is pure functionality. I don't want to pay more than a 4 banger gas bill, but I want 4 wheel drive. I want a convertible. (Try and argue with that new gens!) I want to be able to haul some stuff, and not have to hunt for a long enough parking space when I'm in the city. I don't need to win beauty contests, I don't need to be the fastest truck on the road, I don't need to be the most lifted, I don't need flahing lights, or to be most able to drive over a vw beetle. I need to be able to DO anything I want to do, go wherever I want to go, and do everything without sacrificing the ability to do any single thing. I kinda envy that you're digging this all over in hawaii man, wish I could be there...
My suggestion, with all due respect... skip the eye candy, catch up on all the preventative maintenance we all wish our previous owners had done. Change the rear diff fluid, get new wiper blades, and let Jiffy lube rip you off for the radiator flush and air filter.
Who cares what other people think you look like...
Enjoy your 4runner as much as I would like to...
Otherwise, If you really have to know, I'd go for the supercharger...
Have fun. D!

the maintence part I plan to do, that's not a questionable thing it is a MUST! so that's not even a question, my questions is for optional things, I take care of my truck, it gets washed and waxed every month and on time for scheduled maintence, I just want to know what type of "toys and goodies" to put on, although it won't be for at least a couple of months, inbetween that I have to get the oil changed and other stuff but that's already worked into the budget, I just want to stuff I want for the truck, I haul some stuff, heck I practically live in this 4runner, and I guess the only big thing I haul is my dog in the back with his wire cage (at least on a regular basis). However it did come in handy with my recent move. But I guess I can understand where you're coming from, I don't "need" all this stuff I added on, although it sure is nice most of the time

Cool, I know what you mean about living in it, I've spent an odd night sleeping in the back ( I need some light back there, that's something the new gens DO have over the 4runner grandpa's). Didn't want to sound preachy with that post, I should probably keep my opinions to myself but good to know not everyone is into purely superficial showoff mods and upgrades, glad the poll is going so tremendously in favor of the mod that will actually affect performance!!

I say go fo the charger, I know if I had the cash that is what I would be shooting for. But as for mantinece things, do what I'm about to do and go fully synthetic on every fluid. The first thing to change is going to be the oil, I'mswitcing to AMSoil. My best friends dad is an AMSoil dealer and he is going to help me change it all over to AMSoil eventually, diff fluid, power stearing, everything synthetic. It'll be great to get that stuff going, it's supposed to help your milage a little bit and help get some HP and torque, not to mention it really makes things easier on your truck. Okay I'm done just thought I would throw that idea into th mix.

why not get a SC if you have the money? spoiler is good too if you like to ride aroudn with your back window open, which is what i would do if i lived in hawaii. keeps the gas fumes out. probably not too much money, maybe you could get both? well my vote is for the SC.

Do the deck plate. I did it today and as long as you got good tools and good directions, its a breeze. Gives engine a great sound and you can feel a slight increase in HP. Did I mention its cheap too?

it seems supercharger so far, as long as it stays the same price for at least a month and a half i'd be getting one, although like i said before boyfriend would kill me....maybe....right now I don't have enough money, I already wanted to put the last mod i did and made the appointment so technically if I put the screen/alarm mod on hold i could have already gotten a supercharger, but oh well, I only need about 1500 more to go, actually more than that if I want someone else to install it, I can't do it myself.

I don't think he would mind as long as you promised him that he could drive it for a while. I know I wouldn't. My girlfriend is getting pretty tired of me talking about the supercharger, espcially since it is now only $1800. She's graduated and working now, can anyone say Christmas present. Don't I wish.

well on the tattoo subject, I am actually getting another tattoo, tomorrow, I will be getting my name is kanji, btw thanks woodbert but i got the kanji sooner so you can stop researching it. i will post pics probably on thursday or friday, when i'm back on my computer, it will be going up my back above the dragon, which is very good looking might i add, although you must know when you get a tattoo and it scabs (3-4 days after you get it for about 1-2 weeks) it's REALLY itchy!!!!! And you're not supposed to scratch it because it may cause blotches, but damn it felt like i was going to die if I didn't scatch it a little bit. on well, on for the next one.
