What length were your downey or performance coils?

Just got in a pair of '1.5" lift' Eibach coils for my 2nd gen. First thing is that they were progressive wound, which i didn't expect, but don't mind. I have a feeling they ARE the performance products springs, just unlabelled. Second thing is that they looked short, so I measured them against a spare pair of used OEM springs I have. The Eibachs measured 15", the used OEMs measured 14.5" and I expect the OEMs to have sagged a bit.

The ONLY way the Eibachs will provide the claimed lift is if they are MUCH stiffer. It's possible since the wire measures .62" diameter painted, and the OEMs were .56", but the Eibachs also have 8 winds to the OEM's 6 winds... so they might be about the same.

So did anyone measure their 1.5" springs before the install? What length were they?

C'mon, help a brother out.

Anyone know the free length of your springs? Downey, PP, OME, anything?

I can help you with the OME dimensions...

Here ya go:

891 Rear Springs and 881 Front Springs both measure 15.875" in length...I think they add 2.5-3" of lift. Hope that helps.

When I removed the stock springs from the rear of my 4runner, I noticed that the stock springs were longer than Downey HD's that were being installed. I was a little nervous. But, after installation the new springs did give me about 2" of lift in the rear. Hopefully it will be the same in your case.
