What kind of gas mileage should I get
I'm looking at purchasing a 97 4Runner but am curious what kind of gas mileage I can expect. It is completely stock and is a v6 4wd 5spd. If you have this combo please post some numbers for me. Thanks in advance. YOTATECH is always a big help.

I got a solid 18 in my 97 w/5 speed in the city which is 2mpg higher than I get with my '99 automatic.
Highway mileage seems to be bit more consistent with both the auto and 5 speed at around 22.

I have the exact same truck except in a 99'. I usually get 18-19 in town (drive really easy) and approx. 22 on the road. Mine has 140K on it.
Drove in 4WD for a couple days about a month ago, playing in snow, locked rear diff etc. That tank I got only 15mpg however.

I am right were you are but I have an Auto. Just passed SMOG today so I know the O2s are working. Though I came close on my NO reading at 15 MPH and it cleaned up really well at the higher speed test. Wondering if a sensor is going out.

Yeah I get 17-18 in town. Havent been on highway much. Its like 95% under 50mph. And like 5% on freeway in OverDrive.
And Im in the process of runnin that jet fuel stuff through my engine. And so far im gettin 19mpg.

Even that's a bit optimistic for a 4WD.
Mine drops to ~13-15 w/ a trailer.
