3" suspension with a 2" BL would set you up perfect for a 35x11.5. with my 3" suspension I fit a 33x11.5x16 perfectly. which is plenty of height for me. lots of mud around here and I still make out fine getting wherever it is I need to go.

35s will fit on a 3rd gen 4Runner. You will need to trim and pound.
Do 35s look good on a 3rd gen? Hell yes.
Are they really going to get you more places than 33s, some lockers, armor and skills? Doubt it.

god this forum is filled with d$%(s. if you guys dont want to help the poor guy then dont say a thing. the whole search thing is so annoying. thats why this forum has gotten so lame and not a lot of activity.
yeah like wabbit said, it'd be better and easier imo to just go with a nice 33" tire, good suspension set up, at least a rear locker and some armor. better fuel mileage and more daily-able that way imo

As an owner of a daily driven 3rd gen with 35s and all the other odds-n-ends, it takes a lot of effort to fit them. It also puts A LOT more stress on all your other components. The fact that you want them for looks makes it clear to me that it's definitely not going to be worth your time to fit them and take all the other precautions/steps needed to compensate for them. Otherwise, you're going to lower the life expectancy of your 4Runner.

good for you. i'd rather not eat tire making a turn into the grocery store. SOME people do it right. like you..u did the correct mods to make it happen. but 95% other ppl just slap a set of 35s on and think they are the ˟˟˟˟. my 32;s ate tire on every off chamber spot front and rear. with a IFS COILOVER lift and fj80 springs. n IMO. SA 4runners look better then any ifs 4runner anyday. wheeler or not. your right. i must not no anything about wheelin

I love my 255's for height on my 97.
2.5" spacer front with adjustable coilovers, 1.5 spacer rear and 2" body. I ALMOST pulled the trigger on 35's but didn't want to do all the tubbing/re-gearing.

A little late on this post but reading these posts about 35's not fitting on a 3rd gen with ifs and the fact it would only be a pavement queen... Hate to be rude but y'all are wrong they will fit yea takes a little bit of work! 3" Toytec Suspension lift 2" Toytec body lift 1" dif drop 18x9 rims and 285/75-18's!!! And it's 100% useable drove over our motocross track hills today in 2wd no rubbing!
Ohhh the awkward moment when a girl can makes your "impossible" happen!
They said I would never be able to fit 38's on a 2nd gen with ifs either... Ohh but I did, And it wasn't a pavement queen either!
Sorry if u take offense to this post!
