THIS is what I want.

And once I can afford such an item, I will be throwing my in my North Face bags, Patagonia clothes, Mountain Hardwear, some fly rods and Marmot tent and heading to the nearest back country!

How hard is it to ship these over really? What exactly is involved. Enjoy! 04 landcruiser from japan

You and me both. Check out the Nissan "Safari" on that site. Not too bad.

I actually saw a non-US model landcruiser on the back of a flat-bed truck the other day. It was white, bone stock. Black painted bumpers, black steel wheels, interior was basically stripped looking. It had different numbers on the back than a regular one and had different rear doors than a US model. It had the double rear doors that swing to the sides. It was definitely a new model LandCruiser and definitely not like one that I could go down to the dealership and buy. I thought I was seeing things but a buddy of mine mentioned seeing it also b/c he knows how I am about things like that. I wish I could have followed it and "borrowed" it for a while.

not when you see what theyve done to the next iteration of the g-class.

little hint: it looks like a big ML.

I heard that they were redesigning them. Ouch. I see the picture. That's cool, I could never afford one anyway. For what one cost I would rather let TLC 4x4 build me a "new" old LandCruiser with a big V8 in it. I guess I can dream anyway.

When you're out of the US, thats all the TLCs you see. I lived in Venezuela (South America for those who might not know) (and yes there were cars) for five years. I had myself a manual TLC, 5 door that was a 1993. If I could have brought it up here it'd be real hard to choose between it and my runner... almost too hard. Damn I miss it.

None of those flashy TLCs over there though, the Japanese models with the driver on the left side though. Perfect offroading boxy look that doesn't fit in the US a lot... thats why they don't market them here.

Easy... Bring it to alabama and register it. As long as it has a VIN, you can register it... No annual inspections & no emissions testing.

State may not have any emissions requirements. But thanks to EPA, the car must meet federal emissions standards in order for it to be driven on the street. THats why a lot fo cars from europe, and japan can't come state side. They don't meet the requirements.

One of those older Hilux Surf's they have listed might make for a good diesel donor though. I know it's been discussed & that conversion would be a lot of work, but it seems like it'd be a lot easier pulling everything from a similar vehicle. Wouldn't be good in states with inspections probably, but no prob here.

Along with the EPA, the Feds require vehicles to go through crash testing for insurance reasons. If the DOT does not have a record of it, then you cannot register it.

People have been trying to get the 94+ Celica GT4 over here since they came out with no luck.
