What headers do I use?
I need to know which kind of header would be best to use for my 88 Toy truck 4x4 5 spd. manual. There are cheap sets of Hedman headers on E-Bay but I don't know if they're with a crap. The tubes extending from the header seem kind of short. I'm kind of in a hurry cuz I have to go on a 2000 mile road trip in 6 weeks and I'd like to have a set of headers on before I go. So my question is which header do I use and does it matter how long the tubes are?

I went with DOWNEY. I purchased mine through Performance Toyota. It bolted right up and have had no problems with it. I hear the Hedman headers require some "Adjusting" to the flange to get it to fit right.
LCE has some good ones also. Downey just fit my limited budget.
I have the 22RE.....not sure if you have the V6 or not.

22RE 4cyl.
I have a 22RE 4 cyl. When you installed yours did it make a noticeable improvement? I'm willing to spend about $300. I'm also in Oregon for the summer away from home so I'm kind of limited on tools and need for the header to bolt right up without any major changes. Also what size of exhaust did you use? Thanks for your help!

Whent I had my 22RE, I went with LC Engineering. Ceremic coated. I went with their top end kit. New Cam, large bore throttle body, K&N charger, new head with larger valves, and headers. 2.25 exhaust. It made a big difference in power. Very nice stuff. Downey would be a second choice over LC engineering.
