What is the harness for?
Hey guys... was looking at my MAF to see how difficult it is to access it and clean it when I saw this harness dangling beside the intake tube. Obviously it's supposed to be connected or secured somewhere but what is it for or what does it do? It's on a 99 3.4L 4runner.

Noise Filter?
Looks like the EC Noise Filter. Does it have two wires, "Brown" and "Black w/Red Stripe" coming to it? If so, that is the noise filter. It shouldn't have any exposed pins -- it should look like black epoxy in the exposed end. If you see exposed pins, then someone has removed the filter block from the connector.
It's normally just taped or wire-tied to a nearby wire bundle to keep it from flopping around.
Edit: I believe the Toyota part number is 90980-04083. Alternately called a condenser or noise filter.

The 95-97's had a 3 wire MAF and a separate 2 wire air temp sensor. After that they changed to an integrated temp sensor with the mag and changed to a 5 wire.
I'm 99% sure that's what you're seeing there.
Not sure why they didn't remove that part of the harness.
