What are the first things to break on a 3G 4Runner?
We took the 2000 off roading today, and my friend decided to straddle a log (that tapered bigger) instead of driving besides it. halfway through, he punched hte gas, and we heard a loud clunk. The log hit something.
What should I check first? Everything looks fine, but I need to make sure, seeing its not my truck, and I wasnt supposed to have it out in the first place (I was supposed to go wash it)

Don't worry about it. The log hit the rear axle. If everything drives ok your fine. I hear awful clunks all the time from sticks jumping up hitting my rockers to my axles dragging huge rocks and the ifs skids bottoming out ontop of ruts....

check the rear driveshaft also, I always seem to tag that as well. Look for any new scrapes or scuffs, and check the u joint. If you did hit it and dented it, he will be able to tell by the horrible vibrations at fwy speeds.
The first thing to "break" on my 3rd gen was the front fender flares on a really tight, rocky hill climb.
