What brake pads do you have?
#21
I recently replaced the stock rotors and stock pads at 80,000 miles. The pads still had life on them, but the rotors were so warped that any repeated usage would make the entire dashboard shake. It actually became embarassing.
The replacements I chose were Brembo direct replacement rotors and Hawk street pads. The braking has changed like night and day! Although my stock front brakes never created dust, they also did not inspire confidence. This setup stops beautifully. Brake dust is now visible, but that is a very small tradeoff for the gain in stopping ability. Both items came from the Tire Rack. I also made sure that my rear brakes were properly adjusted.

I started using OE parts on brakes in the last year or so. I've always used them on my personal cars but friends would always opt for Pep Boys or AutoZone when I would help them with brake work. I've had so many of them come back complaining about short wear life or lots of squeaking that I've given up on aftermarket stuff in the brake department.

brake pads are brake pads, unless your in a race car or something of the nature, i always get the straight organic pads, cause its cheaper to replace pads than rotors, thats how the parts stores burn you, you buy the metalic life time pads and they ˟˟˟˟ the rotors and wear them out really quick, so i highly reccomend any kind of full organic brake pads, sides the hardest part of doing the brakes is to take off the wheel

Performance Friction - on my 2nd set... very happy with them. Seem to stop just as well as OEM, last about as long (though there are so many variables it's hard to guage), they are cheap, and have a lifetime warranty.
