What is this black rubber piece?
I found this black rubber piece on the garage floor. Its size is like a walnut. It probably fell out somewhere from my '02 Runner, but I have no clue what it is and where to put it back.
I attached a picture here.

yeah that sounds right.... or it could be part of the battery mount. my
friends father almost died because a mechanic left a piece of rubber just
like that on top of the motor and all it took was one bump in the road for
it to fall onto the throttle and it wedged itself in makin the accelerator
stick. He ruined his trans by throwing it into park while the motor was
revving at 5k+. later that day after finding the piece of rubber he took it
to the shop where they denied leaving it there of course.

Thank you, guys, for the suggestion.
I checked hood and did not see any missing dampner there.
If this is part of the battery assembly, then where should I check around the battery?
Thanks!

I would remove the battery and see if theres anthing obviously missing from the assembly
If nothings obvious and its holding the battery tight without rattling or anything, I'd say thats not it either

Also, look around the garage and look for other things it couldve fallen off of. Unless you were tinkering with stuff on the runner, chances are it didn't just fall off...Toyotas don't drop random parts like some domestics do, especially an 02

not a hood damper, those have corkscrews on the bottom so you can screw it up/down to get the desired height. could be from a door or something. never seen anything just like that on my '00

You don't need that part. You should send it to me. I lost one.

It is off one of your doors. Look torard the bottom of all your doors and you'll see them and the one that is in your hand.

Thank you all very much for all the suggestions.
I removed the battery and checked the battery assembly, and found nothing obviously missing there.
It's not one of those hood bumpers, as drguitarum2005 mentioned, those hood bumpers have corkscrews on the bottom. I also checked the door and the rear hatch bumpers -- no, it is not one of those, as those bumpers are much smaller (like peanut size), but this one is bigger than that, like a walnut.
I am pretty sure it came off from my 4runner. Before I found that mystery piece, I did a few things to the runner in the garage: (1) removed the bug deflector; (2) drained and refilled transmission fluid; (3) cleaned MAF sensor and throttle body; and (4) replaced the battery.
Any other ideas?

As I mentioned above, its not the door bumper. I checked those on the doors and those door bumpers (peanut size) are way smaller than this one (walnut size).
This one might be a hood bumper, but I am not sure.
