What 4 runner option package is this??

I saw at a deal today while driving by a dark green 1999 or newer 4 runner. I could tell it had the newer grill and bumper. They were color keyed to the vehicle as were the flairs and running boards. The front bumper had projector fogs in it and the hood had a scoop. It also had oak leather interior. The back liftgate had 4 runner and sr5 on it. It was a 2wd and looked to have the larger size tires on it. What option package is this?

Yep...sounds like a "Highlander" sport edition(what they were called in '99). Toyota didn't offer leather as factory option on the "Highlander" sport edition. It was a SE/Gulf states dealer install option package. If the flares had a black "matte" finish then it was a '99. If the flares were the larger "Limited" style and body color then it was a '00+. They also added DRLs on the '00+.

Now whats different between that one and a limited edition of the same year? This one had no tags on it and was not cleaned up, so I dont know if it will be for sale. I thought I might ask about it tomorrow. But is it the same as a limited?

Hey Jalabr:
On your site it said the Hilux Surf's hood scoop was functional. Was it just open so that air would flow into the engine compartment or was there a hose or tube that sent air into the engine itself? I think I might do this someday just to allow a little more air in to cool the engine.

The hood scoop is to direct air to the intercooler on the turbo diesel in Japan. It's only for looks here in the US.
