Western WA - need your Toyota dealer comments
Well I have my loan secured and will be looking around this weekend for my Tacoma. What I need now is the good, bad, and the ugly about our Puget Sound area dealers. Where were you treated well, where did you find the awesome deal, any specific people to talk to, any place to stay away from and why?

Shane,
I purchased both my 4Runners at Foothills Toyota in Burlington from Dave Andrews. You probably don't want to drive that far but you could call their 800# or go to their website if you wanted to see what they had available.
I had done my homework on what everything cost wholesale vs retail so I'm sure I was a slight pain to deal with.
I went down there cause the stealership in Bellingham sucks (Wilson Toyota is the devil!)
Good luck!

Stay away from Kirkland Toyota in Totem Lake. Avoid them like the plague.
Michael's in Bellevue is almost as bad.
Renton Toyota has a good reputation amongst my chapter members as does Puyallup. But we have a special relationship with Doxon in Auburn and if you want I can hook you up with my sales guy. He will treat you well and will get you the best price.

Thanks Rob, I'll give him a call in a few minutes here.
On a related note, I tried out Costco's deal with their special insider prices thing, and stuff. They referred me to Magic Toyota up on 99 by the Aurora Village, anyone know anything about them? I've heard one negative comment so far, but that's not really enough to go on. The rep that called me to setup an appointment isn't in the list of authorized contacts Costco gave me which is a minor red flag...

Doxon is awesome. I didn't buy my truck there............they didn't have the "one". I did bussiness with Puyallup and had a great experience and got a good good deal and yes I said good twice.

I agree with Watrd - Toyota of Kirkland sucks!!! Tried to charge me $400 to change a wheel bearing! Ended up getting it covered under warranty but only after an ugly fight with the service manager. DO NOT GO THERE.

Shane, back in '90 I bought my new '90 Extracab from Renton Toyota.
However I always took it to Doxon's for servicing, and never had a bad experience.
I bought my '91 4Runner used there in late '98, and have been very pleased with the service there.
Jason there is a top mechanic too, and the only one that works on my rig.
My vote is for Doxon's.

Hey Shane. What kind of Taco are you getting?
I know this is a little late but like the guys said Doxon is the way to go.
Since high school I've purchased several cars from them new and used. They have always stood behind there work.
Although they gave me a hard time for purchasing my 4Runner from Puyallup (great place as well) there service and commitment is like no other.

4x4, 4 door, probably green. Don't worry though, my '86 isn't going anywhere. All this praise for Doxon is starting to sound a little fishy, how much are they paying you guys?

I actually bought my truck from Titus Will in Tacoma; at the time they were the only one with an incoming (real) Highlander. Service-wise though it is too far from me.
I went to Michael's once, took one look at their special "dealer markup" tag and haven't been back since.
Now for service I always take my truck to Doxon, on Corey's advice.
I tried other places for 'service', but they've always done something to let me down.
So Shane, you gonna wheel the Taco too?

Not like you are headed to Kirkland or Bellevue after what has been said, but I agree they are horrible. I have never had a good experience with them. I hope Rob's lead works out for you Shane.

Hey Ken, nope no hard wheeling. This will be a daily driver for a good while.
Ya, I already knew about how bad Kirkland is long before posting this thread, not going anywhere near them.

i always go to Toyota of Kirkland, but thats only for parts.
im starting to think that my water pump is leaking again. i'm never going back to that mechanic again! except to get the water pump re-fixed, if thats what it is.

Well we found a loaded green DC elsewhere in the state, he's going to try and get it brought out for me. It's the last green one on the dealer list in the NW, and while they're still accepting orders for '04 green has been discontinued. Fingers crossed...
