Water in dash

Lately when I am under hard acceleration I can hear what sounds like water somewhere in the dash or that area.

If I just cruise around I'll never hear it.

Could there be something else causing this? I really don't want to start ripping the whole dash apart for something so vague.

Pretty sure you are hearing the coolant in the heater core. Does the noise have anything to do with the position of the temp slider?

Does it sound like water sloshing in a chamber? Or like water running or draining through pipes?

You shouldn't be hearing water in the heater core unless you have air in the system.

Where do you live? does it rain a lot? Do you wash it often?

Maybe water is caught in the vent/cowling area between the hood & windshield. There are drains there that could be clogged.

Maybe a water bottle under the seat?

Good luck,
Paul

More like something small inside a box rolling backwards for a very short period.

Yah doing some reading and rattling from this area would be something loose externally.

It does have a tendency to rain a bit where I am and no I don't wash it that often

Hmm will have to find these.

heh nope! Its in the dash area somewhere

Good luck,
Paul

I had that sloshing sound when my water pump started leaking. I think you might have air in the coolant.

Ok so.. I discovered this will do it even when I'm sitting still...

And I am losing coolant.. I'm not sure how much to be exact but it does go down. So I either have a leak somewhere .. or something worse.

No white smoke out the tail pipe = good sign.

But haven't pulled the plugs or checked the oil yet.
