Yeah... you might be right. Hmmmm... I wonder if I can find a momentary pushbutton that has normally closed contacts, and when you push the button, the circuit gets broken...

Take a look through the drawers at Radio Shack. It might end up being a push-button switch that you hide under the dash or elsewhere, unless you are not concerned about how the end result looks.
That's the reason I went with a stock fog light switch and made my own label.

I got all the parts and pieces and will be installing the AndyMod this weekend hopefully. Anyone have problems with installation when you have a car alarm? Mine's a Viper. Can't imagine any problems but wanted to double check. I can't wait to smoke my Coopers!

The mod only requires that you cut the ground wire leading to the brake fluid pressure sensor. I see no reason why this would affect anything else on the truck. Let me know if you have any questions.
The feeling of complete freedom when I smoked my REVOs 30 feet down the street was great. Then I realized how much they cost and switched the systems back on!

PRESTO! AndyMod is installed and working properly! The hardest part was fishing the wires through the grommet...very simple and easy installation. My only problem was finding a switch. I went to Radio Shack and bought a simple rocker and tried to glue it to the dash panel near the fuse area. It didn't stick! That's my only dilemma...otherwise, this is a slick mod!
BTW...my Coopers really smoke when they spin!!! LMAO!

I used crimp connectors on the switch inside. In the engine compartment, I just used twist on connectors. Electrical taped everything together really well and voila! I think I found a solution for the switch thing, because glue will not hold long term. Near the fuse panel, there's a larger knock out piece. I'm going to drill a hold into that and the switch will pop right in and stay for good! I'll post burnout pics sometime next week (when the wife's not around)!

I was going to suggest simply locating the the "VSC/TRAC" wiring harness and placing a switch in line with the circuit(s) so that you could then manually switch it on and off, but you seem to have finally figured it out.

Can someone post a pic of the wirs they tapped in to do the AndyMod on a 4th gen v6 4Runner. I have read through this thread and could not find anything exact. I need to lay some rubber.

Stopped at a local Toy parts department to pick up a couple of replacement wiper blades yesterday as these literally fell off! Anyway, as I walked away I remembered that I wanted to ask them something ... I went back and asked about the (A)TRAC OFF switch that I see in my repair manuals. I asked if such a switch is available for the 2003 Sport edition and whether it's a plug and play thing. I explained why I want it off and he was understanding.
He's not sure if it's a plug and play, but like me, he suspects that the coupler is at the cabin fuse box -- I did see some sort of a coupler there and considering there are many options available this must be one of them (fingers crossed).
Any way, there are two part numbers (made in different plants) and the suggested price in CAD$ is around $80.00:
84988-35040
84988-35010

i don't know how real it is, and i can't test it since i don't have a 4th gen. but it may be worth a try, the lexus IS computer may have lots of shared code with the 4runner.
