Vibration making hands numb!

1996 4runner PP springs OMU shocks with 265/75/16 terra grapplers 30,000 on them 4runner has 188,000 on it 90% highway. I am getting a vibration in the steering wheel and driver floor board. I loaded up the u-joints with grease and rotated the tires still there. And today replaced the front pads and rotors cuz they were needed and checked front wheel bearings for play and none present. There is also a humming noise along with the vibration (like the tires have never been rotated but they have every other oil change) that starts from 30mph on up. The hum gets louder when i swerve the truck back and forth also is still there when coasting in netural. Any help would be aprreacited before I take it to the sealership. Thanks all sick of my hands and forearm being numb for the first couple hours at work after my 50 mile commute to get there!

your toe could be out on one or both of your wheels. Get an alignment done. I'm almost certain that's what the problem is. I've seen that problem a couple times in friends' cars. In both cases the toe was way off on one tire so they were fighting each other for right of way, so to speak.

Sounds to me like your U joints or U joint is bad. Did you check for play in the drive shaft. I had the same problem and it was my u joints. It had no play in the drive shaft when the tires were hitting the groung, but tires off the ground, it had play. Also push up and down on the frount and rear drive shaft to see if it has any play in it.

I had the exact problem on my 99. After replacing tires ujoint and balancing tires a few times, I ended up replacing the driveshaft. Nice a smooth now with out a hint of vibration. I was almost to the point of trading it in. Good luck.
