DALE: Wear was generally above average in the first sample from your Tacoma. Only copper was high enough to warrant commenting on, though. At this level it shows a little wear at a brass or bronze part, such as a bushing. We suggest taking no action other than changing your next oil in 4,500 miles and resampling, since it's not cautionary. It may be due to the modifications that you've made to your engine. Everything else is okay. Universal averages for the 3.4 L are based on an oil run of 5,700 miles. No contaminants found. We'll know more as trends develop.
I have an aftermarket oil cooler that may account for the high copper number, but I'm not sure.
