Udate On Seized Engine
Ok here go....Freekin Toyota dealership in Goldsboro said they will not install the motor I found (1999 4Runner supercharged motor 3.4 w/ AT and only 7,000 miles) but they will install their new motor for almost twice as much not including parts and labor. I am waiting on Rob at www.downeastoffroad.com to get back to me and let me know if his team can do the install. Hopefully he can that way I save around $4000 versus getting new engine, buying SC and URD kit. Plus it will keep the wife off me!!!!!!!
I should know Monday afternoon.

Not to be an ass, but why on earth would you expect a Toyota dealership to install an engine that you found in a junkyard?? Do you think the dealership wants to hear from you down the road when something with that "7,000 mile" engine goes bad?
For all the bad rap dealers are given on the Internet, sometimes you need to stop and ask yourself why a decision such as that is made.
I think getting that supercharged 3.4 in your truck is a no-brainer. You just need to find someone to perform the work. Should be very straightforward.

Well when the dealershp themselves tell me "If you can find a 3.4L engine to put in we can do it for you" your damn right i expect them to keep their word, not back out after 3 days of deliberation.
Hopefully Rob pulls through. If not I will have Yota install thiers and wait for tax return to purchase SC. dont tell wifey!!!!

Most of the time they will not put in used parts simply because they can't warranty them.
I am not surprised they backed out in the end.....not to worry, there are plenty of other who can do the install cheaper anyway.
