Turning lights like on a Caddy....
For those of you who know, you know... everybody else: well on some Caddy's (had a 90 Deville that had them) when you turn on your blinker there is a like that shines where you'll be turning on that side. I found a guy who did the same someplace and it involved a capacitor, but with dark tint and ventvisors I find myself struggling to see where I'm about to turn. I've seen a few "bling bling" looking PIAA type lamps but I'm thinking of something a little more humble, useful, and cost effective. Anybody done this or have any ideas? I don't think our driving lamps have the capability to accomodate this...

there is a side light, on the side of the bumper... it's not really feasable *shrug*
and i'd think it would look like crap...
but....
to do this, you'd need to wire up a set of lights into the side of your chrome bumper. maybe even integrate them into the fender flares.
the wiring would be very simple though. there is a pos feed to the 'blinker' flasher relays, this is energized whenever your have your turn signal on. just wire ANOTHER relay off of the left, same for the right. use this relay to power the side lamps.
very easy to put down on paper, but timeconsuming online...

I'm getting my TJM this week, this is something I want to look into... nothing like guessing where the road is in snow through a frosty tinted window. FYI I think the Caddy style I'm used to helps a ton. I can rig something up no doubt, also want to keep it from distracting other drivers as well.... If worst comes to worst I guess I can tuck some cheap fogs under there and run it off a switch...

When you decide on what lights you want to use, I will give you the scematic for the circut Its easy and requires less than $10 in parts from radio shack and can handle about 600W of power.
