Depends on how much you get the manifolds and intercooler piping made for - since they will be custom the price could vary quite a bit. All in all though, I would expect between 6-7k with the supporting fuel/timing mods, dyno time, VB upgrade (if auto) etc...

That would be cool at the dragstrip but too much temptation with the power for me on the street.
So you have to have one of the quickest 4Runners in the country;you need some strip #s.

Right now it's running about a 3 month 1/4.... :-)
I broke a rod and put it through the block so I have a new motor sitting next to it in my garage waiting on the new manifolds to get done. I will head to the dyno once it's all back together and see how the more efficient designed manifolds work out.

Well.......
My fabricator on the new manifolds, crossover, downpipe etc. flaked out and I didn't feel comfortable counting on him anymore to supply the parts I needed to get my truck running. So I pulled the plug on the turbo, sold everything off, and went back to the trusty ol' Supercharger. Am running the 7th injector and 2.2 pulley - alot better than stock, but alot less top end than the turbo. I'm happy with it though and glad to have my reliable yota back..

The "Z" in the engine code 5VZ-FE stands for forced induction in Toyota engines.
If it's in the first group, it's not factory installed but was designed and built for forced induction.
If it's in the second group, it's factory supercharged. For factory turbocharged, the letter "T" is used in lieu of the letter "Z".
examples:
4A-GZE is an A-series engine with DOHC sport cam angle (G), supercharger (Z), and EFI (E). 2L-T is a L-series engine with turbocharger (T). 1KZ-TE is a KZ-series engine with turbo (T) and EFI (E). 1KD-FTV is a KD-series engine with multi-valve (F), variable nozzle turbo (TV).
hth.

Well what happened with the 3VZ-E?
