Tundra wheel on 85runner. HELP- WHEEL SPACER Q!
I have a set of 2000 tundra alluminum wheels. I want to put them on my 85 4*4 4runner. The offset is higher than the previous wheels. The back wheels fit fine. The fronts clear my landcruser brakes no prob. but hit the bar/knuckle that connects the two front wheels together(sorry, dont know the name).
It only needs 1/2 inch of spacer to clear it. I saw wheel spacers on marlincrawler for 100 bucks. Are these safe to use for heavy off road use??? Also, is there any reason why i SHOULDN"T get the 2 or 3 inch spacers just for a wider wheelbase. Or should i keep it as minimal as possible??
thanks for any help/suggestions/advice.

Do a search. I've seen a few threads in the last few weeks talking about spacers. Consensus from what I've read is that as long as their hubcentric (can't remember if this was the right term but it was something centric), you should be OK. One of the people that chimed in was Roger Brown. Try his website: 4crawler.com for more info. I know he's done a bunch of write-ups, especially on the 1st and 2nd gen runners. Good luck.
