Unhappy Try to fight this logic

Extract from conversation at Nrgetic World HQ.

Me "Hey hun, aren't you pleased I bought that floor jack and stands ?"

The boss "Why, how much were they ?"

Me "Well, it was a good deal and they are pro grade and.."

The boss "How much ?"

Me "$150 give or take"

The boss "Give or take how much ?

Me "errr $50 (gulp)"

The boss "So why would I be pleased?"

Me "Cos I am saving around $20 a time at the dealer every 6000 miles or so to rotate my tires"

The boss "You were ripped off sucker, my tires roatate every time I drive !"

Me " No , no, switching the tires around and.."

The boss "So why did n't you just say that instead of trying to confuse me"

Me "My bad, just using the terms 99% of the known universe use"

The boss " So, tell me again why I would be pleased at you spending $200 to save $20"

Me "Cos its $20 every time (proudly)"

The boss " Well, thats $40 a year, congratulations Sherlock, that floor jack will pay itself off in 5 years !. Remind me to make money saving decisions in future !"

Me " Yes Hun..(sigh)"

Me " I'll be sitting in my truck if you need me"

LOL !!! That's hilarious.

Never talk to your woman about why we do things for our trucks. They will never understand. I know mine doesn't... That's why there are these forums. So we can talk about the odd things we do, with people who understand and do the same thing, heh.

That's a good one man. I am modding my truck out now to the max I can before I have that problem. So far the only thing that argues with me is my wallet!

The really sad thing is I am not married !

It just feels that way sometimes :pat:

David.

P.S. UKMyers....I am originally from the Reading area in Berkshire. Been here about ten years. Actually did some work at Mildenhall and LakenHeath when working for British Aerospace.

Nice to see some UK runners. My Dad loves mine but said the only ones he found in the UK were diesels !

That's 'cause you own the Runner and you are the boss! hehe. My wife is kool about my madness...I do all my own mods and maintainance. I wanted to lower it, she said no way...my slammed Datsun was enough for her...my 2 boys are begging me to do it...not gonna happen, only in Photshop (thanks to Macross).

That was hi-larious! I feel your pain though. My g/f is warming up to all the $$ I spend on my truck, she just doesn't want to hear about everything I do. At least she isn't the boss yet

The diesels are going to be imports from japan as I think that toyota only sold the 4runner in the uk with a v6 3.0 , and they did not sell many so they are rare but i have seen some for sale .
as for running the v6 against the 2.4 diesel i bet that they run about the same gas milage.

Hey Mark you can get the UK 4 Runner in a 3.0 litre Turbo Diesel too, a guy who lives down the road from my brother's got one. Real nice too in a dark blue metallic.

Cheers
