Truck broken into

Kind of an over statement, as the top was not on so it wasn't too tough to get in. Anyway, someone broke into the 4runner in the parking lot at my store last week. Tore the non-working CB out of the dash and grabbed everything from the glove box and center console. Mostly junk, but they did get my Stauns. If you guys could keep an eye out and let me know if you see anyone in the Everett area selling a set of Stauns and/or a Uniden CB.

Thanks

that bites

I'm about 90% paranoid at work when the doors are off the truck. 100% when I leave the rig at home - unless it's locked in the fenced yard...

i have an alarm from when i had subs and crap. so i usually feel ok, its safe around here so most places i dont lock it up, just set the alarm. they cant steal the truck with it on and theres nothin but gum and eyedrops and crap in my console....i guess the most expensive thiing would be my inverter in the glove box. but im not too worried.

Dude, Is Everett WA the theft capitol of the world? I was on a road trip up the PCH and when my girl and I got to Everett, the enging in her VW bus Blew up. The NIGHT we got it out of the shop we were at a motel 6, I was going to unload the second half of my gear but fell asleep. in the morning the bus had been cleaned out, they took $3500 worth of climbing gear, my new fly reel and flys (they left grandpa's hand built flyrod), all my tools (bout $400), 150+ CDs, my girl's backpack, new north face tent, my stove, water filter, alpine stereo, cooking utensils, Cannon AE1 program with lenses and autowinder, everything down to my ex g/f's tampons! I was smart enough to never loose sight of my trusty old .45, boy did I want to do some tweaker hunting that day! I hope those jerks use the climbing gear and it fails on them, serves them right. The motel 6 we were in was like a crack house though. My girl said the next day the lock felt a little funny when she was locking the door, but she didn't double check it for some reason. Funny part was, when I told the guy at the shop about it, he said "thats whay you should keep your doors locked" I never said anything about that to him, and I kept my gear in the van while it was in the shop they told me it would be safe there. Yeah, I was naive. I won't mention the name of the shop or the person who made the comment or the time frame, karma may return.

Sorry to jack your thread, but when I hear theft and Everett WA in the same sentence I get a little nutty. Sorry for your loss dude, but hey you could have had your whole summer vacation road trip to alaska ruined.

Evil everett theives, be more funny

Do you mean the kind of switches that roll up the windows and activate the cyanide gas?

Crappy to hear man.

I heard a story from the neighbour who has a family member in some suburb in Ireland. Supposedly she had a BMW parked in her driveway, and the thiefs showed up in the middle of the day, and knocked on the door and when she came to the door to check and ask who it was, they said to throw the keys to the car outside or they were going to break down the door. So she threw them out. That makes us seem damn lucky.

Do they have a bait car or something similar program in any of your guys counties? or states?

They have bait cars parked in malls here in Phoenix. It is amazing to see how fast these kids (none look older than 19) can get a car started.

This was a bummer, the Stauns were a Xmas gift from Nicole, and when your GF gives you wheelin stuff for Christmas it's a big deal. On the up side they did leave my Birk's in the truck, although I don't really blame them for not touching those. A week before I had all my tools and recovery gear in the back, but was lucky enough to pull all that before this happened, just forgot to check the glove box. I'd like to say that Everett isn't all that bad and this was a isolated event, but the place really is kind of a ˟˟˟˟˟hole. I think we'll both be glad when we are out of here. Big news (non Toyota related) next week for me. I'll be sure and post when it happens. In the mean time, if anyone hears about this stuff for sale, let me know.

If my birks got stolen I would REALLY go nuts. My buddy went to school at UW and he said they would go to Everett on welfare check friday to hit on all the moms cashing their checks at the Bar.
