TRD Wheels ... Do they fit?
I saw the following parts special from Conicelli Toyota and wondered ... will the TRD "2003 only" multi-spoke 18" wheels fit my 2002 Limited?
http://www.partznet.com/toyota/tundra/trd%2018'%20wheel%20package.html
So I called Conicelli and asked the Parts Manager, Steve Kaufmann, what the back spacing was on the 2002 Limited 16x8 wheels and what the back spacing was on the 2003 wheels, and the TRD 18's in particular. Do you think he/ they knew?
Steve did give me a number to call at TRD, so I called and spoke to Fred in Dealer Support. Fred said that the "offset" is the same from '97 right through '03 and the wheels "will fit". He did not know what the back spacing is but the '02 16x8 wheels are a zero offset as are the TRD 18" wheels. The "stock" '97-'02 wheels are a +1 offset.
Now this is where I get confused, the offset is the degree of distance that the mounting face of the wheel is either in or out. Back spacing is measured by running a straight edge across the back of the rim from rim edge to rim edge and then measuring from the mid point in to the face of the mounting surface --- right? I asked him if it would be true that if the offset was the same, then the back spacing would also be the same. He said yes. Therefore, the 18" TRD wheels advertised for sale by Conicelli will fit the 2002 Limited ... according to TRD Dealer Support.
Any comment or disagreement?

I always get so confused by offset that I'm not sure if you're right. But I thought I had calculated stock offset to be -28mm based on a 4 5/8 BS and 7 inch wide wheel.
Also for $2500 you can get custom wheels in different sizes and widths (at least in 5 lug designs).
Here is a good explanation of offset.
and here's another.
