Tranny wont stay in gear
The Truck- 96 Tacoma singlecab, 2.7l, MANUAL. Not sure on the tranny number, i will check in the morning (w56 i believe)
As mountainbiking season is starting, ive been working less on my truck and more on my bike. I did however take my truck across the state to have some fun with my guns. I ran it 10+ miles of high elevation on old forest roads when i noticed:
Gears 1-2-3 go into gear fine, but when they are in gear they just fall out. It seems they dont go in as far as 4 and 5 if you can see what im saying. If i hold it in place it doesnt kick out, but if i let go i can keep a constant RPM and it will slip back into neutral. gears 4 and 5 seem perfectlyfine
I just now got home... got my first speeding ticket, aparently and ar-15 in the seat and loaded mags in the console dont ease the officers mind any

Ok It was indeed the shifter seat bushing. this thing was GONE! I ended up going to the stealership, i couldnt wait for MC. There was only grease and little rubber chunks where it was supposed to be. Changing it made all the difference, it feels like a totally new tranny. Thanks rocket!
