Toyota Rescues Dodge
So on my way home from school today (taking the backroads) i noticed a big ol lifted Dodge in a mudpit that i like to wander through on occasion. I pulled over and watched this truck for about 5 mintues, when i finally realized this thing was stuck. His big badass truck (aka-Pavement Princess) with its 10 inch lift, shiney chrome accents everywhere but the windows, and tires that would make a unmodded motor scream, was rescued by the tiny little "soccer mom" car with mud tires. After i pulled him loose and he thanked me, and i proceded to do in one quick throttle what he had been trying to do for the past 15 minutes. Yet another example of Yota supremacy i thought id share

LOL, I get that a lot around where I live. I'm not making fun of your dodge, but come on man. Of course that cummins would pull any toyota on this site across a field. I don't think too many Toyota guys are building up their 4Runner for truck pulls. Most of the guys in my truck club drive full size diesels and they always wanna pull the Toyota when I talk about it. In a mud pit my Toyota will prevail over 90% of the full size trucks in our club.
I have read your posts before, DeathCougar, and I understand that you are knowledgeable enough to know everything I just said. So I wasn't trying to school you, I just get tired of people in my town wanting to "hook up" so they can prove to themselves that their 7.3l Turbo Diesel powerstroke will pull my Toyota. It FN better!!

Everybody gets towed, the reason those street queen trucks get stuck is becuase the divers are idiots and think that thier huge modded motors and big tires will get them anywhere

hey man i dont doubt the pulling abilities of a cummins, my dad has a 05 2500 with a banks kit, we pull a 27 foot seaboat to california and couldnt even tell. We once had a popped tire on the boat trailer and the only reason we noticed was the sparks flying out from the bottom of the leaf spring hanger.

If you actually make it to said field
So, as some of you may know, i recently purchased a 99 Dodge Ram quad cab2500 4x4 Diesel. Seen here:
That being said, i would like to rant a bit about my dodge. I bought the truck with 120xxx miles on it. It just now turned 123xxx miles.
Since I have purchased it, it's been back to the dealership for:
-New torque converter
-New front trans pump
-Brake clean and adjust (right rear tire locking up)
And now tonight I had to drop it off for a low fuel pressure problem (apparently the lift pumps go out, then take the VP44 with it?!?!) If you dont know what a VP44 is, google it. Then google the cost of said VP44. Its not cheap.
My only saving grace is that its covered under an extended warranty i purchased until 145K miles, or two years. Mind you i bought this truck in November 2007.
I love the truck, the power, the towing capacity, and the overall build quality of her. (I was lucky enough to get one built in the USA and not Mexico). I just hate to continually repair the darn thing. Luckily race season does not start until April, so i have time to work out all the bugs lol.

Glad to hear it, that torque sure is addicting isn't it?? Have you thought about adding a chip/exhaust? Exhausts are pretty cheap (as far as custom exhausts go) and make 100x difference. Much lower spool times, cooler operation and better MPGs. I gained a good 2mpg by adding a 4" turbo-back to my Excursion PSD. Not to mention the turbo sounds amazing! This place is a good place and has free shipping.

Previous owner installed a lot of goodies in it, including a BD shift kit, extra capacity trans pan, and carter frame mount lift pump.
I love that I can pull my race cars and 4Runner without so much as a grunt from the truck.
